Well this is like a week late, but this show was the best I’ve seen in the past year by far. It’s tough to put into words just how fucking amazing this concert was. I was excited for Big Black Delta, their primary opener, but they were kind of disappointing, Just two female drummers and the rest of the music pretty much coming from the leads laptop. I couldn’t understand any of the lyrics because it was super loud and the effects he used for his singing voice distorted it beyond all recognition. But I did enjoy a few of the songs, so it wasn’t terrible.

M83 blew my mind! I literally had chills the entire time they played. The intro felt like they were taking us all up into space, and seeing their weird monster mascot on stage was a trip. Every song was performed with such energy and passion. The entire band looked like they were having the time of their lives as they performed on stage. Never have I seen such enthusiasm to make their performance as great as possible. They played a lot of songs off their new album and many of their old favorites. When “Midnight City” played, the whole crowd was standing and dancing. And that sax solo just skyrocketed the mood to new heights.

When their whole set was over, the whole venue was thundering with applause and calls for an encore. And M83 didn’t disappoint. The entire band, including the guest bass and sax player came on and just jammed. It was the best encore performance I’ve ever seen. I was just speechless when they were done; all I could do was clap and cheer. And the best thing was the humility the band showed during and after the performance. No bravado, no arrogance; just thankful for the support of their fans. They gave us all a show we would never forget.

So thank you M83 for the wonderful experience. And thanks to all the Brochachos that came: Tony, Eric, Elyse, Matt, Tamara, Danny, Andrew, Jinny, Marc, Sonia, and Marvin. Can’t wait to see M83 again at Coachella <3
